Kimberly Y. Erwin

A bonafide Hudsonian, Kimberly took a detour from her native city and studied for her undergraduate degrees at the famed, HBCU-Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and went on to complete her studies after a few years' stint on the west coast, where she taught for the Institute of Reading Development. After securing her ivy league degree, she started exploring work in other states and countries in teaching & higher education administration.

Success for this go-getter was to achieve jet-setter status and successful she was traveling and working from the East Coast to the West Coasts of North America, including Mexico to Europe to the tiny Island nation of St. Kitts & Nevis--all the time enjoying a truly native experience in all places she roamed. Her New Yorker status returned as she returned from Germany to care for her mom as she battled Cancer.

Kimberly's desire to go abroad for yet another time was stunted by a beloved Uncle who had just one wish, before he too succumbed to the deadly disease-Cancer (like his younger sister before him). The request for his niece to publish his book of poetry came to fruition (made available here as a giveaway via ICC Books). And here she remains--in Hudson having carved out a life where she engages with people of all walks of life being a bridge from Warren Street to the Hudson City Schools to organizations like the Hudson Area Library (as a board of trustee member) and seeks opportunities to lend her skills, life's lessons and talents to those specifically helping young people achieve success, such as Operation Unite NY.

There's no hope for quiet space when Kimberly turns up--a vocal gatherer of souls for the betterment of the human person--helping one seek out LOVE. BEAUTY. & JOY.
